Dispatcher’s family featured in Buffalo News

LVAC dispatcher Mark Reed and his wife, Nancy, hold their new son, Connor Michael.

LVAC dispatcher Mark Reed and his wife, Nancy, were featured in a front-page story in The Buffalo News on April 18 about their new son, Connor Michael. Reed, a Buffalo firefighter, lost his right leg and was in a coma for 31 days after a chimney collapsed on him while he was fighting an arson fire nearly three years ago. But now he and and Nancy have realized their dream of becoming parents by adopting a newborn. "The story of the newly expanded Reed family is one of determination, focus and optimism in the face of adversity," Buffalo News reporter Pete Simon wrote.
