Food drive brings in 5,000 pounds for needy families

Thanks to the generosity of shoppers at two locations, some less fortunate families in Lancaster and Depew will have a brighter holiday season. LVAC’s annual one-day food drive to benefit Trinity Food Pantry in Lancaster raised $865.43 in cash, a dozen frozen turkeys and an estimated 5,000 pounds of food and toiletries. The food drive was held on Nov. 23, 2013 at the D&L Plaza Tops in Depew and Wal-Mart at Transit & William in Lancaster in association with Lancaster’s Office of Emergency Management.
